Instructional Technology

Technology is a natural part of learning in today’s classrooms, supporting students as they explore, create, and engage with content in meaningful ways. In the Cypress School District, all students in kindergarten through sixth grade are provided with their own device to use during the school day. Kindergarten and first grade students use iPads, while students in grades two through six use Chromebooks. In transitional kindergarten, iPads are used in small groups to support age-appropriate learning experiences. These tools are integrated into daily instruction to help students build digital literacy and access a wide range of educational resources that enhance teaching and learning.

Students may also use their assigned devices to complete schoolwork at home. Parents have the opportunity to authorize home use each year during the annual data confirmation process, which is completed in the Aeries Parent Portal in July.
