Click on the "Weekly Plan" link in the blue bar on the right to review this week's learning plans.
Starting this week, all students are expected to work at a new website Cypress School District has adopted. The new website is called MyOn. This Friday
, April 17th, students have their first assignment at MyOn. MyOn
is a great resource that offers students many reading materials, articles, and texts at different levels. I sent your child's MyOn passwords in an email to each Parent this morning.
You can also find your child's MyOn
passwords on their "password card" they brought from school. The MyOn
passwords are the exact same as their Scholastic passwords
. Email me if your child's passwords do not allow access to MyOn.
To get started in MyOn, I strongly suggest parents visit the MyOn Parent Orientation link I have posted in the blue bar to your right of the screen on this webpage. All students are required to take a pretest before Friday. Warning: students will not be able to access and complete Friday's assignment until they complete the pretest. Sometime before Friday, have your child take the pretest...without any help from parents.
For English Language Arts and reading instruction using the student's reading book, "Wind and Water Change the Earth," students will complete a Daily Assignment at My Google Classroom on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please email me if you have questions logging into My Google Classroom.
For Reading instruction on Wednesdays and Thursdays, students will go to Freckles.com website and complete reading assignments I have assigned. To sign in at Freckles.com students need to enter the Class code: MHU5KX. Then, students enter their First and last names. Finally, they click on "From My Teacher " and do any reading assignments I have made for students.
For Math instruction, students will go to Freckles.com on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Linking to Freckles.com for math is the same as above. Click on "From My Teacher" and do any math assignments I have made for students.
Some writing and science assignments will be completed at My Google Classroom.
Another resource I have posted is a link to a 2nd Grade Workbook, located on the blue bar to the right. You can print it or print several pages at a time to practice reading, spelling, math, and, writing skills that your child has learned in 2nd grade.
In addition, I have created many, many links to websites that have online learning activities and games to practice the skills they have learned this year. Once again, students can find these links in the blue bar on the right.
If you have questions, click the Send email link, located just below the photograph of me, to email me a message.
